squat 405# ?!
Today I video taped my husband squatting 405 pounds for the first time. Talk about pretty amazing! He did 3 sets of 10, I was surprised he did more than one set! I did abs and an hour on the treadmill and tried to show him up on the squats and only did 25# lol but whatever. Today when I sneeze it hurts lol but its a good hurt.

mondayyy - burpees
cross fit attempt 3:
7 minutes as many burpees as you can. I accomplished 87 the last couple were modified
If you dont know what burpees are Zuzanna shows them in the video above. She use to be a body rock host and i liked her a lot. Now they have a couple others that are good as well. They are fairly provacative which i dont mind but if you do, you probably wont like the site. They are good workouts you can do from home in a short amount of time but my problem is, i want them to do the whole workout with me instead of just show me a couple and then say "go do it" I want to follow along with them instead of having to watch pause workout repeat. I haven't been to the site in awhile though, maybe they have a few workouts that you can follow along to?
I dont know what to make for dinner tonight. I've been pushing off the fish we have in the freezer for a couple days now because honestly, seafood terrifies me. 9 times out of 10 i DO NOT like it. and i cant decide if its more of a texture or a flavor thing. I found I can handle crab, I can't even leave shrimp in my mouth long enough to taste it because of the texture. The looks of lobster weirds me out etc... i may just have to bite the bullet with this one tonight though, my options are slim.
Going to try to encourage myself to go for a run or something later today, it's much too nice out not to take advantage of it.

weigh-in
I am down FOUR pounds this week! :)
biggest changes:
I have worked out more and more regluarly. m-t-th-f-s and sometimes twice a day. wednesday and sunday are my off days, although i may do a quick workout tomorrow if i have time, just something little.
I have only had a grilled snack wrap from mcdonalds, otherwise NO fast food this week
I have stopped drinking so many of my calories. I cut out milk almost all together, which i know is good for you and has protein vitamins bla bla bla. but here's my thing. It's dairy and dairy has a lot of fat and calories AND causes acne/blemishes. So by cutting it out (I drank about 4 cups of milk a day (skim) plus i'm a sucker for ice cream which i have replaced with frozen fruit that i mash up into a sorbet)
next week i'm going to try to incorporate more protein shakes in. I only had one this week. And I want to make sure I burn at least 400 calories on work days and 100 calories on rest days ( so a walk with the dog or something )

Cross fit
So what do you all think about cross-fit? I say this as if I have followers... hmmm that needs to be changed. FOLLOW ME PEOPLE! I need accountability partners (I just started the 7 day arms challenge today, I was suppose to be done by today!!!)
Anywho my friend started going to a cross fit gym about 7 weeks ago. She looks AMAZING by the way. Totally has definition in her arms and starting to see a little in her back too. So I was looking up what exactly a cross-fit gym does. And it seems to me like it's weight lifting quickly (sometimes body weight, kettlebells, dumbells, weighted bars etc) enough that you get a cardio workout at the same time. Plus they throw in some running. Sounds awesome, BUT I love my gym I'm not about to spend $150/month to join a different one with people that are most likely in much better shape than I am (even though my friend says everyone is really nice lol) so I stumbled upon a blog that I LOVE.
http://calicrossfit.blogspot.com/
needless to say I have subscribed to their blog. I will get emails daily (which is awesome motivation) with their daily blog posts which are...... WORKOUT OF THE DAY(s) I gave today's a shot with the stuff I currently have at home and its amazing. I love this woman's idea to take the cross-fit idea and make it an at home workout you can do with 4 kids! (we have a lot in common!)
I did go to the gym this morning and did the Retro Step class. I typically like this class, its a good cardio workout but today they decided to turn the heat on right at the beginning of class. SOOOO not only was I sweating from my workout but I was sweating due to the HEAT blowing on me. EW. Was not an enjoyable experience for me and needless to say I half-assed it.
Feeling like I let myself down I logged on to http://calicrossfit.blogspot.com/ and did today's workout to make up for it, as well as starting my 7 day arms challenge. Here's the recap for fitness today:
55 minutes Retro Step with 10-12" step (burned 655 calories)
12 minutes of cross-fit/circuit training (burned 114 calories):
I need a heavier kettlebell is what I have decided and I cant wait to be able to do more sit-ups per set
Can't wait to get my dumbell weight up and do the 3 sets i'm suppose to :)
